Dependant of the size of the breed a switch to a Senior product can be made from 5 years on.

IMPORTANT FACTORS IN THE NUTRITION OF YOUR LARGE BREED ADULT DOG:
- Control body weight: due to their body size and weight the skeleton of large breed dogs is under lots of strain. Be sure your dog stays lean; adapt the feeding amounts to his body score. We recommend a portion controlled feeding method split over 2 to 3 meals a day.
- Calcium & Phosphor level and balance: although adult dogs are able to control their calcium absorption, it is not recommended to feed high amounts of calcium and phosphor. Large breed dogs need relatively less of these minerals for the maintenance of their bone tissue than small or medium size dogs. Do not add minerals or vitamins.
- Joint cartilage protection: The cartilages of large breed dogs are under a lot of strain. Glucosamin & Chondroitin Sulphate provide building blocks and protection for the cartilages. By feeding a diet containing these nutraceuticals you increase your dog’s chances for a life long optimal mobility.
- An appropriate balance of the Essential Fatty Acids (omega 6 and omega 3) is beneficial in the reduction of inflammatory processes and the resulting pain, should damages occur.
