For large breed puppies the importance of a scientifically formulated puppy diet, based on the specific requirements of fast growing dogs, is even higher than for other breed size dogs. Not only is the growth period for large breed dogs much longer (up to 18 – 24 months) than with smaller breeds, but the initial growth rate (the speed with which the bones need to grow and build strength) is of a fascinating speed.
